I am licensed and certified in the following therapies:
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a method of promoting wellness and alleviating pain, suffering, and disease. Chinese Medicine focuses on balancing "vital energy" or qi. Through questioning and observing the patient as well as pulse and tongue diagnosis, energetic balances and imbalances are assessed. The hair-thin needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points on the body and used to harmonize and restore healthy balance to your vital energy. The needles are made of the highest quality surgical stainless steel. They are sterile and one time use only. When applicable, I use heat therapy, electro-stimulation therapy, moxibustion (the burning of a medical herb near the skin), cupping (glass cups placed on the skin with a negative pressure producing suction), gua sha (scrapping technique), Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional counseling, and therapeutic exercises.
CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
Chinese herbal medicine is a comprehensive system of care that has been refined through centuries of clinical practice. Rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms, treatment considers the broader patterns of health, constitution, and function to develop an individualized approach.
I prescribe both traditional Chinese herbal formulas and custom herbal prescriptions formulated specifically for each patient. Traditional formulas may be selected when an established combination of herbs closely matches a patient’s presentation, while custom formulas allow for greater precision and can be modified as symptoms and health needs evolve. Formulas may be adjusted over time as your needs change, allowing treatment to evolve with you.
Herbal medicine may be used independently or in combination with acupuncture and other therapies, offering a personalized approach to supporting health, resilience, and overall well-being.
FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE
Facial Rejuvenation is a holistic approach to looking and feeling younger. This whole body treatment brings out innate beauty and radiance and slows the aging process. Needles are inserted into body points to create a relaxed, yet energized body. And facial points are needled to lift and define facial features, relax muscles to fade wrinkles, and to promote glowing, youthful skin.
Facial Rejuvenation may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with results apparent after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be entirely eliminated and deeper wrinkles diminished. Bags under the eyes can be reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimized. Other likely results: moisturizing of the skin with increased local circulation of blood to the face, increased collagen production, firmer skin and muscle tone, tightening of enlarged pores, brightening of the eyes, improved hormonal balance to help acne, and reduction of stress evident in the face.
MEDICAL QIGONG THERAPY
Qigong Therapy has two branches: Qigong the movement meditation form (similar to Tai Chi) and Medical Qigong, an energetic medical system that addresses the energy imbalances that contribute to ailments and disease.
Medical Qigong is a form of light-touch bodywork designed to return the body's bio-magnetic fields to their optimal frequency. It has been used in the hospitals in China for centuries and has positive, clinically recognized effects on the electrical activity of the brain, blood flow, heart function, kidney processes, biophysical states, eyesight, bone density, lung function, and pain reduction. Medical Qigong’s system is one of advanced diagnostics and treatment protocols, and I use this therapy as a means to move qi through areas of the body and to harmonize vital energy flow through mind, body, and spirit.
